Your home is likely the biggest financial investment you will make so keeping it well maintained and in top shape makes good sense. Regular cleaning, tending to the yard work and other routine cleaning and maintenance tasks help keep your home looking well cared for and attractive. Increasing the curb appeal of your home is another great way to protect your financial investment since curb appeal adds tremendously to the value of a home. Resurfacing your driveway with a fresh coat of driveway paint is an inexpensive way to raise the value and look of your home in just a weekend’s worth of work. There are many concrete driveway paint manufacturers, so choosing the paint that is right for you should be easy and stress free.

Before you begin painting, it is important to prep the driveway to receive the paint. While there are many types of paint available like epoxy, epoxy and acrylic blends, concrete stains and more, all paints require they be painted on a clean dry surface. Scrub down any oil spots making sure they are completely removed and thoroughly power wash the driveway to remove dirt and sweep away debris. If there are any oil drop stains these will have to be removed also. You can do this with a degreaser. Allow the area to dry completely and then sweep once more to remove debris, leaves or other matter that may have collected while the area dried.

Once your area is clean and prepped, you are ready to begin painting. Selecting the driveway paint that is right for you is easy with the choices available. Epoxy acrylic blends are formulated to be long lasting and resist hot tire pick up, oil, chemicals, gas and grease stains. The epoxy blend dries to a long lasting ultra violet resistant satin finish that resists fading, peeling, blistering or bubbling. Epoxy acrylic blend paint is easy to maintain and use with soap and water clean up and is an excellent choice for high traffic areas. Epoxy acrylic paint is available in a range of colors, emits low odor and is three times more durable than floor paint.

Concrete stains are another great choice for driveways. Concrete stains are available in a multitude of colors so you can select the exact look you are after. Replicating the look of expensive stone, brick, tiling or other luxury patterns, concrete stains can transform the look of your driveway by changing its color and texture. Colors can be combined to create custom colors or looks and faux finishes to create a unique driveway that increases your home’s curb appeal.

High performance urethane is another common choice for driveways. It provides a chemical resistant high gloss finish and can be used without a primer. Easy to clean and customizable with paint flakes and chips, urethane based paint is a good choice for driveway paint.

No matter which formulation you chose, begin with a clean, dry driveway and be sure you have all the necessary supplies at hand. Once you have purchased your paint and scrubbed the driveway down, the rest is as easy as rolling on the paint and watching it dry. Increasing the beauty and curb appeal of your home is easy with driveway paint.
